World’s Longest Pizza Attempt

This post is about an attempt to create the longest pizza in the World. The Italians claim the current record. No one in the pizza industry this record could ever be broken.

The current record was set in Naples, Italy, on 18 May 2016. The longest pizza measures 1,853.88 m (6,082 ft 3.40 in) and was achieved by Napoli Pizza Village (Italy),.
The record was certified by the Guinness World Records.

Another group of International Master Pizza makers have answered the call and will attempt to break the current record, Saturday June 10th, 2017 at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California.

All the proceeds and product to go to the local Homeless Shelters and Food Banks.
Based on a concept by Fash Asvadi, director at pizzaovens.com a team was put together that include such heavy hitters of the pizza industry as Tony Gemignani, Giulio Adriani, Tom Leehman, John Arena, Fred Scott Anthony Mortati, Massimo Balacchi and Jimmy DeSisto and many, many others. There a numerous generous sponsors who are also assisting with this Record shattering event!

Here are some facts:
The dough weighs about 8000lbs
The sauce will weigh about 5600lbs
The cheese will weigh about 3600lbs
Total weight of the pizza= 17200lbs and may be up 7000’ feet long.

The oven will be moving at around 17 feet per minute. The assemblers will need to work fast or the oven will catch up with them. The oven is cooking at around 700°F; once it starts its journey it cannot pause or stop.

Officials from Guinness Book of Records will be present to officially judge the record attempt.
Plenty of food and entertainment will be available to keep things exciting.
