Tony Gemignani had a recent visit to New York appearing live on the Kelly and Micheal show. (David Muir stood in for Michael).

First Tony needed to try his hands at a couple of New York Pizza Places. Of course you knew he was going to check out his favorite pizza places in New York.

Then onto the show! Tony demonstrated the reason he is an 11 time World Pizza Champion. Of course he wowed the crowd with some of his pizza acrobatics. The guy still has it.

He gave a brief lesson to Kelly and David. surprising these two television talents were not bad for beginner pizza tossers. Honestly they were able to throw a pizza much better than I can!

Tony also demonstrated a number of different regional pizzas. He showed a New Haven pizza, a New York Pizza, and he also was able to create a Detroit pizza as well as a St. Louis pizza. Tony wanted to introduce his new book: The Pizza Bible: The World’s Favorite Pizza Styles, from Neapolitan, Deep-Dish, Wood-Fired, Sicilian, Calzones and Focaccia to New York, New Haven, Detroit, and more

Tony explained to me this book shares all he knows about pizza. I feel this book may be one of the most significant books about creating all different types of pizza. The book will cover New Haven and New York pizza. He will also discuss Detroit and St. Louis pizza. Since Tony has made a name for himself on the international stage of pizza creation, there will also be several types of these pizzas as well. Since he opened Tony’s Neapolitan Restaurant in San Francisco, he has taken pizza to a whole different level.
With the opening of his New Pizzeria Pizza Rock, things are looking quite good for Mr. Gemignani.

Here is a tribute video created exclusively for Tony as a way of honoring him and all he does for the world of pizza. Thanks Tony!

Finally he ended up at Carnegie Deli.. One of my favorite stops in NYC. And no, he diddn’t eat the whole thing, but he did give a great effort!
