I subscribed to your pizza newsletter list because I wanted information on making pizza. I did not subscribe to it to receive ads from other web sites. If you keep this up I will ask to be removed from your list. I get enough junk unwanted email as it is and I do not need you making the problem any worse.

2. Top 10 Tips For Using Fleischmann's Yeast

TOP 10 TIPS FOR USING FLEISCHMANN'S YEAST

1. FLEISCHMANN'S Active Dry Yeast works best if dissolved in warm water.

The appropriate liquid temperature for dissolving is 100 to HOT which feels comfortably warm to the touch like a warm bath.

2. FLEISCHMANN'S Rapid Rise Yeast is generally mixed directly with the dry ingredients and the appropriate liquid temperature is 120 to 130F, that feels very warm to the touch but not hot enough to burn.

3. Liquid temperatures are critical when working with yeast. Eliminate guesswork by using a thermometer to make sure the liquids are at the temperature recommended in your recipe.

4. For an accurate liquid temperature reading, immerse the stem of the thermometer in at least 1 '/2 inches of liquid.

5. Some people prefer to test the yeast in advance to prove it is active (proofing yeast). If you want to test if yeast is active, mix 1 envelope or 2 '/4 teaspoons in '/4 cup of lukewarm (100 to 110F) water. Stir in 1 teaspoon sugar. Wait 10 minutes, after which the mixture should foam and double in volume. Yeast mixture will not foam without sugar.

6. FLEISCHMANN'S Rapid Rise Yeast loses its fast‑rising capabilities if dissolved in water before adding to the rest of ingredients and then the recipe would require two complete rising times as when using FLEISCHMANN'S Active Dry Yeast.

7. FLEISCHMANN'S compressed yeast should be softened in tepid (70 to 90F) water before adding to the rest of ingredients.

8. Yeast needs a warm environment ideally (80 to 85F) to make dough rise in the most expeditious manner.

9. Work with slightly sticky dough so yeast product will be light. Knead in only enough flour to keep the dough from sticking to your hands and work surface.

10. Store unopened yeast in a cool, dry place such as a pantry or refrigerator.
